The Christian Way to be Happily Married

Welcome!

Welcome to www.TheChristianWaytobeHappilyMarried.com, the independent, ecumenical Catholic Christian web site for Christian Starlight Press.

Mission

Our mission and purpose in this web site is to explore and promote the Christian Way to be happily married by following Jesus with love, wisdom, faith, and other Christian virtues and gifts in a loving Christian marriage discipleship.

This Christian Way to be happily married is good for non-Christians too. It is good for all of us couples to love our partner and treat our partner well, with wisdom, patience, gratitude, and other virtues. Non-Christians can follow Jesus in a limited way as a role model or moral teacher even if they do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. This web site is for non-Christians as well as Christians.

We Christian couples are called to follow Jesus not only by believing that he is the Son of God and trusting that he loves us, but also by turning away from our sins and amending our life. We turn away from our sins and amend our life in an authentic Biblical sense by becoming like Jesus in our moral character and conduct, with love, wisdom, and other Christian virtues. The apostle Paul urges the Ephesians to "imitate God" and "follow Christ by loving as he loved you" (Eph. 5:1-2).

This web site is for engaged and married couples who have committed themselves or who would like to commit themselves to being happily married not only by using conventional communication and relationship skills, but also, above all, by becoming increasingly virtuous, Christ-like persons, with love, wisdom, and other virtues. A wise person once said that many couples vow to become one when they marry, but then the trouble starts when they try to decide which one. This web site aims to help both partners become the "same" virtuous, Christ-like one in their moral character and conduct--without sacrificing their individual personalities.

Pope John Paul II reminds us Christians that we "are called to the fullness of the Christian life and to the perfection of charity." John Paul adds that "the time has come to repropose wholeheartedly to everyone this high standard of ordinary Christian living."

We couples can set our sights on the high standard of the fullness of the Christian life and still accept and love ourselves as we are whenever we fall short. We can grow in love, wisdom, and other virtues gradually over the years at our own pace and God's pace without becoming perfectly virtuous, Christ-like persons today, tomorrow, or by the end of the year. When we grow in these virtues, we not only become more virtuous, Christ-like persons; we also strengthen our relationship with our partner and deepen our relationship with God. And there's more! We are also happier-- with a profound Christian Happiness centered on God and virtue, not just a Conventional Happiness focused on worldly goods. As the apostle Paul says, we are "happy in the Lord" (Phil. 4:4).

The virtuous Christian Way to be happily married centered around the imitation of Christ is not widely promoted these days in the Western world, including what has been called America's Culture of Narcissism and Divorce Culture. This web site aims to help couples understand and follow the Christian Way to be happily married with love, wisdom, and other virtues. This ecumenical, Christ-centered marriage web site reflects the spirit of Pope John Paul II's "new evangelization" by reaching out to Christians and non-Christians alike with a call to follow Jesus along a loving Christian way to happiness and holiness in marriage and family life.
